Site characteristics

The study area consists of: (1) the Ntokou Pikounda National Park (4253.1 km²), (2) the Pikounda North UFE (952.4 km²), (3) a small area located south of the park, referred to here as "Ntokou South" (197.5 km²), and (4) the Atama Palmeraie Forest (607.6 km²); together covering a total area of approximately 6011 km² (GIS data) (N'Goran et al. 2020).
